About The Department


Started in the year 2009, the graduate course in Electrical Engineering encompasses the various aspects of Electrical fields such as Power and Industrial Electronics, Advance Control System, Solid State Relays and Protection, Microprocessor Application and Computer Application to Power System Studies, High Voltage Studies. The Department has traditional and modern laboratories such as Machines Lab, , High Voltage Lab, Switch gear and testing Lab, Microprocessor Lab, Network Analysis Lab, Power system Lab, Control System Lab, Basic Electrical Engineering Lab, Industrial Drives and Controls Lab and Electrical Measuring instrument Lab. The Department is engaged in Research activities, mainly in Power System, Energy Management and Distribution System. It has contacts for R & D work with Electrical Engineering Division of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar University, State Electricity Board Maharashtra, MAHAVITARAN, and MAHAGENCO. The Department also undertakes testing of motors, transformers and Insulation of electrical appliances, Insulation Boards etc., as a part of consultancy work

Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)


PEO I: Our graduates will excel in professional career in technology and management with appropriate consideration for safely, culture, energy optimization and environment.

PEO II: Fulfill the needs of society in solving technical problems using engineering principles, tools and practices, in an ethical and responsible manner

PEO III: Our graduates will practice good human values, professional ethics and social responsibilities.

Program Outcomes


1. Engineering knowledge

Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems

2. Problem analysis

Identify, formulate, review research  literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.

3. Design/development of solutions

Design  solutions  for  complex  engineering  problems  and design system   components   or  processes   that  meet  the  specified   needs  with  appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.

4. Conduct investigations of complex problems

Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.

5. Modern tool usage

Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.

6. The engineer and society:

Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice

7. Environment and sustainability: 

Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal  and  environmental   contexts,  and  demonstrate  the  knowledge  of,  and  need  for sustainable development.

Students got to know about the Protective Relays and their classification, concept of Main and Back-up protection and different types of protection scheme provided for the substation equipment’s.

Final Electrical Engineering Students visited ±500KV HVDC PADGHE on 14-10-2016. They have studied the need of HVDC & how the transmission done between Chandrapur to Padghe (750KM distance).
